Chelsea FA Cup kit decision made as key question answered ahead of Man City clash

Chelsea have announced which kit they will be wearing for this weekend’s FA Cup final.

The Blues will take on Manchester City on Saturday looking to end their recent Wembley woes.

The west Londoners have lost six consecutive domestic finals in the last eight years, and are out to snap that record against City, whose focus could be elsewhere.

Pep Guardiola’s men are in the middle of a hard-fought Premier League title race with Arsenal, who lead them by two points going into the last two games of the campaign.

City need a favour from either Burnley or Crystal Palace while also beating Bournemouth and Aston Villa themselves to win the league and deny the Gunners a first title since 2004.

Now, however, their attentions turn to the capital, where they take on Calum McFarlane’s west Londoners for the second domestic trophy of the season.

City already clinced the Carabao Cup earlier in the year when they beat Arsenal 2-0 under the arch thanks to Nico O’Reilly’s double.

On Saturday, Chelsea are down as the ‘home team’, and as such, will sport their classic Chelsea blue home kit.

City’s strip is yet to be annonounced.

This term, the two sides have met twice in the league, with a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium back in January before a resounding 3-0 win for City at Stamford Bridge, thanks to goals from O’Reilly, Marc Guehi and Jeremy Doku.

The most recent FA Cup meeting came in the semi-finals in the 2023-24 season, where Bernardo Silva struck the winner for City, who were then beaten by Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the final.
