Chelsea eye Kepa Arrizabalaga replacement as Christopher Nkunku price made clear

The summer transfer window is now open and it's the start of a really busy few months for Chelsea. The Blues are set to revamp their squad in order to try and get closer to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City next season.

Thomas Tuchel knows he has a big challenge ahead of him to try and mount a serious title challenge with Chelsea, but it is one that can be achieved if the recruitment is right this summer. It's easier said than done, of course, but a busy summer period is expected either way.

So, with this being said, football.london takes a look at three of the hottest rumours/news that has circulated online recently...

Thomas Strakosha

As cited by the Daily Mail, Chelsea are considering a move for goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha on a free transfer should Kepa Arrizabalaga exit Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports.

Jules Kounde

Sevilla have confirmed Chelsea target Kounde will undergo surgery on a minor pelvis injury. It shouldn't impact the Blues' transfer plans though, as the centre-back is expected to be fit in a matter of weeks and should be available for the start of the 2022/23 season.

Kounde has been Chelsea's first-choice defensive target for almost a year – and a move for the 23-year-old was first launched last summer.

Christopher Nkunku

Chelsea and Manchester United target Christopher Nkunku will cost at least £100million, according to the Independent. football.london reported last month that the Blues wanted to bring the 24-year-old to the club in the summer transfer window. However, Leipzig are determined to keep hold of the France international and have been locked in negotiations in an attempt to persuade him to extend his contract at the Red Bull Arena.
