Barcelona are "hoping" to complete the signing of Marcos Alonso from Chelsea by Monday with the Blues looking to secure a move for Sergiño Dest in the opposite direction.
Alonso is understood to have already said his goodbyes to team-mates and staff prior to Chelsea's opening day visit to Everton.
The Mirror report that the Catalan giants were planning to delay Dest's sale in order to drive his £17 million valuation as high as possible.

However, Chelsea are now thought to be using Alonso's departure to gain an edge in the race for Dest, who is also of interest to Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United.
With Todd Boehly known to be an advocate of swap deals, reports claim that movement around the future of Dest is expected within the next 48 hours.
