Chelsea failed to reclaim a top four spot in the Premier League as Arsenal moved back ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table.
The Blues suffered a second successive defeat in the Premier League after a poor performance saw them lose 1-0 against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge. Bukayo Saka's corner drifted through everyone inside the penalty box with Gabriel Magalhaes free at the back post to poke the ball home.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was booed by the away fans throughout the match as endured an unhappy reunion against Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, registering just eight touches before he was substituted for Armando Broja. Potter was critical of his side's performance claiming the Blues lacked 'fluidity' whilst praising Arteta and the Premier League leaders.

Chelsea lacked energy and any real fighting spirit against Arsenal, who didn't face any problems defensively due to the lack of attacking threat shown by the Blues. It has left Potter's side being handed two unwanted Premier League records which Arsenal fans will love.
Chelsea recorded just five shots today, their lowest total in a Premier League match this season, which highlights the need for attacking reinforcements in the coming transfer windows. Aubameyang has struggled to make a big impact since arriving on Deadline Day, whilst Broja and Kai Havertz have also struggled in front of goal this season.
Raheem Sterling looks a shadow of his former self of late, with Potter having played the England international at wing-back in recent weeks due to the defensive injury problems he is facing. The Blues recent form against the Gunners at home have seen them lose three games in a row to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1974.
This was a problem that Thomas Tuchel faced during his time as Chelsea manager and Potter's record for Brighton against the north London outfit boded well for the Blues, but it wasn't to be. Todd Boehly will be slightly concerned at the performances from a few of his summer signings as he prepares to back Potter in January.
