Chelsea have confirmed their second incoming of the summer transfer window with Kalidou Koulibaly signing a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge. The 31-year-old joins from Napoli for a fee understood to be around €40million (£33.8m).
Kouliably flew to London on Wednesday and completed his medical with the Blues, and has now joined up with his new teammates in the United States. The Senegal centre-back becomes Chelsea's first defensive signing of the summer following the double departure of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers.
The Senegalese defender spent eight years at Napoli, where he signed from Genk in 2014. In that time, Koulibaly made 317 appearances for the Italian club – with 26 of those coming in the UEFA Champions League.
