Chelsea's overhaul of the backroom team continued with Christpher Vivell's appointment as technical director on Wednesday. Since taking over the reins from Roman Abramovich, Todd Boehly has effectively ripped everything up and started again in west London.
Vivell is the latest appointment to the recruitment team at Stamford Bridge, joining Joe Shields, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart at the club to support Graham Potter. His appointment comes just days before the opening of the January transfer window, with Chelsea's plans now set to gather pace.
And Blues supporters will no doubt be looking into Vivell's past to see how he has done with transfers up until this point, to see if any gems will be heading to Stamford Bridge. And, it's fair to say Vivell has made some excellent signings in the past, which bodes well for Chelsea

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "Chelsea are building the most exciting project in global football and I'm extremely proud to be joining the club to continue to succeed, develop and grow. Under the new ownership, Graham Potter and the broader sporting team, there is a clear and sustainable philosophy underpinned by performance analysis, data and innovation and I am looking forward to playing a part in that."
Vivell spent five years with RB Salzburg as head of scouting and recruitment and has served as a scout at Hoffenheim before making the move to RB Leipzig, for whom he was also technical director.
Vivell brought in the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Andre Silva while at Leipzig, while he was also responsible for the signing of Josko Gvardiol - a player Chelsea have been heavily linked with signing this winter.
Blues supporters will be hoping he can convince the Croatian to join the new regime in west London, but there is another name that will jump out at fans too - Erling Haaland.
We are not suggesting Chelsea are going to make a move for the Norwegian frontman who has taken the Premier League by storm this season. But Vivell was head of scouting when Salzburg took then 18-year-old Haaland to the Austrian league.
With a name like that on your scouting CV, all eyes will be on the kind of talent Vivell can unearth at Stamford Bridge. And the Chelsea fans will be hoping to see the next Erling Haaland arrive, particularly given their woes in the number nine department over the years.
