Thomas Tuchel has backed Manchester United to return to their former glories and challenge Manchester City and Liverpool alongside his Chelsea side.
United host Tuchel’s men on Thursday night at Old Trafford, with their top four chances firmly in the last-chance saloon. Hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League already looked to be over following their defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.
United now find themselves six points off the pace with just four games remaining, and facing a fight just to hold on to a European place. They will also be aiming to avoid suffering three straight defeats as their season threatens to come to a dismal conclusion.
