It remains unclear at this stage whether Manchester United will propose a second and improved bid to Chelsea for Mason Mount ahead of the summer transfer window.
An offer in the region of £50 million was proposed by United recently but the Blues are stubborn in their stance that they will not sell the 24-year-old for less than the £70m they value him at. Mount has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, with the situation behind the scenes very complex, and there is ever-growing uncertainty over his future in west London.
In an ideal world, Mount would like to stay at the club. However, there has been disagreement over the structure of a new and improved contract and football.london understands there has not been one offer made to him since the end of January, a 12-month extension he turned down.
Meanwhile, the Blues are strongly interested in Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. The Ecuador international has been on the club's radar for a long time now and the two parties had discussions over a possible move in the January transfer window. However, Brighton somewhat priced Chelsea out of making a move back then and will be looking to do the same this summer.
Chelsea are expected to push to make a move for Caicedo in the coming weeks but the Seagulls are expected to ask for north of £80m for his signature. The Blues are likely to move for more than just one midfielder in the upcoming window, though, with Romeo Lavia of Southampton also someone on the club's radar.
Lavia flourished – on a personal level – for the Saints in the 2022/23 season despite the club being relegated. The Championship club are likely to ask for around £50m for his signature and Chelsea are considering making a move for the midfielder after conducting extensive scouting sessions on the Belgian at St. Mary's in recent months, football.london understands.

There were reports on Tuesday afternoon linking Chelsea with exciting Celta Vigo prospect Gabri Veiga and while he is admired by the club, the midfielder is not a priority signing at this point, a source told football.london.
Chelsea are also looking at buying a new goalkeeper and striker when the transfer window opens. Andre Onana is a name firmly on the club's list of potential shot-stoppers to bring in as the Blues look to provide Mauricio Pochettino with a new first-choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.
In terms of outgoings, there are a lot to get through. We'll start with the goalkeepers – fittingly – with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy. Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for both goalkeepers in the summer transfer window, but it remains to be seen whether they would allow both to leave the club or whether it would be one going and the other one providing support to whoever comes in as first-choice.
Inter Milan are very interested in Trevoh Chalobah. The 23-year-old defender will consider his options this summer with plenty of interest in his signature, but at the moment there are no signs that he is desperate to leave the club.
Chelsea remain determined to keep hold of Levi Colwill, who will return from his loan at Brighton. However, the Seagulls lodged a £30m bid last week to try and get him on a permanent deal, but the offer was swiftly turned down by the Blues, who have absolutely no intention of letting him leave again.
Offers for club captain Cesar Azpilicueta are set to be listened to. The 33-year-old Spaniard has just over a year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and could well call time on his prestigious career in west London.
Thiago Silva is expected to stay at Chelsea despite interest from Saudi Arabia in his services. The 38-year-old was recently rewarded with the club's Player of the Season award and remains an integral part of the side.
N'Golo Kante, likewise, has mass interest from Saudi Arabia. The 32-year-old has just a few weeks until he becomes a free agent. Chelsea and Kante were understood to have made some progress in contract negotiations a few months ago but talks have seemingly come to a halt since and it now looks increasingly likely that his seven-year stay with come to an end.
Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for Mateo Kovacic. The Croatia international is a big target for Manchester City, who are expected to lose Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer this summer. Kovacic is also a target for former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel who is now at Bayern Munich.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains in talks with AC Milan, although the recent changes to the club's board could complicate proceedings in that regard. football.london reported earlier this week that a deal with Milan was close to being struck for the 27-year-old Blues midfielder.
Kai Havertz is of big interest to Real Madrid, who have just lost striker Karim Benzema. Havertz is likely to want to leave Chelsea should an offer from Madrid come in over the next few weeks.
Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are both expected to leave the club in the summer. Both are deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. Pulisic has just over 12 months remaining on his contract, while Ziyech has two years left.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be allowed to leave the club in the coming weeks after an unsuccessful spell at the Bridge. Meanwhile, Joao Felix will not be signed on a permanent basis, football.london understands.
Finally, youth-wise; Jayden Wareham is set to leave at the end of the month when his contract at the club expires, with the released and retained list being announced very soon. And youngster Charlie Webster's camp are open to staying at Chelsea despite recent rumours over his future.
