Tottenham and Chelsea are both in search of a new goalkeeper and the Champions League semi-final between Inter and AC Milan would have certainly made for interesting viewing. Inter came into the second leg in front after winning the first encounter 2-0 with Lautaro Martinez making Inter's spot in the final certain after a second half strike.
As football.london reported in February, Tottenham have scoured the market to create a lengthy short list of options to succeed Hugo Lloris. On that list is Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili, Brentford's David Raya, Brighton's Robert Sanchez and AC Milan's Mike Maignan.
While Dean Henderson and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford both have admirers in north London, a major injury to the Man United man and a new contract for the latter likely means neither will sign for Spurs - though a relegation for Everton could change things.

The interesting name on that proposed list is Maignan, with the Frenchman delivering a superb display in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. A smart save to deny Nicolo Barella arrived in the first half before he pulled off a wonderful reaction save to to keep out a glancing Edin Dzeko header which would have put the tie to bed.
However, Maignan would have likely been annoyed by Martinez's effort creeping in at his near post but the power behind the strike made it difficult to save.
At the opposite end of the pitch, Onana was also in fine form, making a close-range save to stop Brahim Diaz scoring look much easier than it actually was. Chelsea have put a lot of effort into signing the Cameroon international with the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy remaining unclear.
The Blues had offered Inter a swap deal including Spanish shot-stopper Kepa but that offer was rebuffed, with the Nerazzurri setting their price tag at £45million - with the 27-year-old also delivering a fine performance on the biggest stage.
The two Milan clubs getting this far into the Champions League proves the need for a world class goalkeeper. Liverpool signing Allison and Manchester City bringing Ederson to the club saw both teams then win a number of major trophies and the same impact could be felt at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Stamford Bridge if Maignan and Onana are acquired, respectively.
