Chelsea and Man United can play major role in £100m Arsenal transfer plan as Napoli duo eyed

Arsenal could be set for a monumental summer transfer window in the hopes of building on from a possible Premier League title win in the 2022/23 season. The Gunners are currently eight points clear at the top of the league, although main title rivals Manchester City still have a game in hand and welcome Arsenal to Etihad Stadium on April 26, meaning there could still be some major twists and turns at the top of the table before May 28.

Mikel Arteta's side winning their first five games of the campaign saw them fly to the summit of England's top flight. To the surprise of many, the Gunners have been able to keep their position at the top and brilliant results throughout the winter also saw the club step up their transfer plans.

Leicester's Youri Tielemans and Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykhailo Mudryk were priority targets for 2023, but neither of the duo are likely to move to the club in the summer. Mudryk signed for London rivals Chelsea, while Edu has opted to highlight a different Premier League central midfielder as his main target.

West Ham captain Declan Rice is now Arsenal's priority target for the summer window, football.london understands. Proven Premier League players in Leandro Trossard and Jorginho were brought to the club in the January transfer window, and the Gunners desperately tried to sign Brighton's Moises Caicedo, but saw three attempts rebuffed.

Through shrewd recruitment of lesser-known players in England and taking major gambles on deals for young, talented stars, Arsenal could soon re-establish themselves back on the European stage as a major player.

The Gunners will therefore be hoping to emulate the campaign of one team that have been able to show they can compete back on a global stage and, like Arsenal, sit top of their domestic league. Napoli are currently leading the way in Serie A by 19 points with the displays of Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia catching the eye of several Premier League clubs, with Arsenal monitoring the latter. as per 90min.

Unfortunately their chances of signing Kvaratskhelia, nicknamed 'Kvaradona' after Napoli legend Diego Maradona, are unlikely as he could cost up to £100million this summer.

The 22-year-old talent has scored 14 goals and providing a further 16 assists across all competitions in just 30 appearances. However, Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has claimed that the winger is not on the market this summer - admitting he doesn't know how much he is worth in this market.

“How much is he worth? He likes to talk about concrete things,” he told Sport Mediaset. “He’s not on the market at the moment, then I don’t know how much he’ll be worth.

"Time will tell what he’ll do in the future. He’s a great player and we hold on to him, then we’ll see what the future will say.”

While Giuntoli did not give a definitive answer, Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio provided his verdict on the likelihood of Kvaratskhelia joining Arsenal.

Speaking to kelbet.it, he said: “I don't think that Kvaratskhelia can leave Napoli now and go to Arsenal. He has only been there for one season and it's really unlikely that the club will sell him already now.”

“Napoli definitely needs to keep him for at least one more season and then he could leave. If they sell Osimhen for €150 million [£132.7m] they are more than happy and then they don´t need to sell Kvaratskheila.”

Arsenal's Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man United are both interested in signing Osimhen this summer after an explosive goal scoring season. According to Di Marzio the future of Osimhen could heavily affect Kvaratskheila's.
