Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table with a huge 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
A stop-start first half saw Arsenal get on top early on before failing to make their pressure pay, Ben White and Gabriel Martinelli aiming attempts from range off target.
Referee Michael Oliver awarded 17 fouls in the first half, the majority of which went against Chelsea as they struggled to sustain periods of pressure.
Gabriel Jesus headed the Gunners’ best chance wide as he leapt to meet Martinelli’s fine cross to the far post on 29 minutes.
Arsenal enjoyed the best of the opening exchanges after the break, Martinelli looking likely to bury a header just before the hour mark only for Thomas Partey’s flick to take it off him.
Advantage Arsenal! 🔴

Jesus threatened the opener after stealing possession from Thiago Silva, forcing Edouard Mendy into a near-post save.
The subsequent corner from Bukayo Saka beat the crowd and was destined to cross the line, until Gabriel Magalhaes poked home on the goalline.
Saka and Martin Odegaard had chances to kill the game with a second as the final 15 minutes began.
Chelsea’s push back towards a leveller was not forthcoming and Arsenal took all three points to leapfrog Manchester City atop the table.
