Crystal Palace have officially got their summer transfer window underway by making Derby County’s teenage forward Malcolm Ebiowei their first piece of incoming business.
The 18-year-old will link up with his new teammates from July 1 when his contract at Pride Park finishes, bringing a close to his breakthrough season in professional football after being elevated to Derby’s first team by Wayne Rooney at the start of the year.
England international goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is widely tipped to be the next signing announced by the Eagles after they reportedly agreed on a four-year deal with the shot-stopper to join the club following his release from West Bromwich Albion at the end of his contract.
