Eamonn Holmes fumes 'beautiful' moment at Queen's funeral was ruined by blunder

Eamonn Holmes says he 'felt cheated' after a beautiful moment at Queen Elizabeth's funeral was 'ruined'.

On Monday, the world stopped to say a final goodbye to the longest-running monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, who died at the age of 96 on September 8.

GB News host Eamonn, 62, was presenting from Buckingham Palace as the Royal family made their way to Westminster Abbey to pay their final respects to the Queen as millions of royal fans tuned in from all corners of the globe to witness the historic state funeral.

Sharing his experience from the funeral, Eamonn recalled how one 'beautiful' moment in the service was immediately ruined.

Eamonn said that it was a crying shame that the cameras cut away during the poignant moment of the Queen's coffin being lowered to the ground.

The former This Morning host said that he 'felt cheated' by the moment while speaking to former royal correspondent, Nicholas Owens on his morning show, Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel.

"There was that beautiful moment in St George's Chapel, when the coffin was descending into the ground and everybody was watching like, 'Gosh, what happens next?'

"And it goes down, down, down and then we cut to the piper, and when we come back to the chapel, the coffin was gone.

"I felt a bit cheated by that," Eamonn explained.

To which Nicholas explained: "Well, here's the thing. At the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral, I think the instruction must have gone out that we saw the coffin, then there was pictures - awful pictures we all remember of Her Majesty The Queen on her own with a mask and nobody with her, that was so, so heartbreaking, wasn't it?

"When we next saw the chapel, the coffin had gone. And I thought, 'What? What happened to that? Where did it go?'

"This time we got not long - they didn't linger on it very long, but just enough to see it descend.

"And as you say, that's the moment when it really is, 'Goodbye, ma'am.'"

Eamonn had been presenting from Queen Elizabeth's funeral on the Mall at Buckingham Palace.

The TV star described Her Majesty as a 'shining light which will never dim'.
