Households are being hit by all avenues when it comes to rising prices.
Food and energy prices have rocketed over recent months leaving the poorest of families having to choose over keeping warm or being fed. Other people have complained about not being able to get to work too due to the ever increasing costs of petrol and diesel.
Fuel hit another record high of 180.73p a litre on Tuesday, with the average family car now costing around £100 to fill up. The 2p rise was the biggest daily jump in 17 years. And diesel, already at least £100 a tank, rose by more than a penny to 186.57p a litre.
