With inflation hitting a 40-year high in the UK, prices are rising fast across the country. And that includes the price of food.
The price jumps have largely been caused due to the increased cost of energy, particularly gas and oil. This has had a knock-on effect on food prices, due to transportation costs. The war in Ukraine has also hit global food supplies.
Mr Kipling cakes are among the food items that could soon see their prices increase after the company's owner, Premier Food, said it would begin hiking prices. The company also owns Oxo cubes, Sharwoods and Ambrosia among other brands.
