For those who missed out on a summer holiday, don't fret as September often brings with it warm temperatures across Europe.
While plane tickets are still high in September, we found cheap flights from Edinburgh Airport with Ryanair and Skyskanner. For under £40 you can fly to places including Spain, France and Denmark for a change of scenery.
Ryanair are known for their budget flights, but it's important to note that these prices are the value fare, that only include a small hand luggage. If you need a bigger bag, it will cost extra.

Here are the cheap flights we found from Edinburgh Airport for September.
Spain
You can enjoy a week in Santiago de Compostela in Spain for just £33 return from Edinburgh Airport. Flights to Spain are still quite high throughout September so this is a lucky find.
The holiday starts on Monday September 5 with your Ryanair flight leaving at 2.55pm and landing in sunny Spain at 6.20pm and return a whole week later on the following Monday at 6.55pm.
France
For the history buffs, Nimes is renowned for it preserved Roman monuments and you can grab a Ryanair flight from Edinburgh Airport for just £21.
The week's holiday starts on September 7 with the Ryanair flight taking off at 5.05pm and you land at Nîmes Alès Camargue Cévennes Airport at a reasonable 8.30pm.
The return flight is a week later on the Wednesday with the flight leaving France at 9.55pm, so you can still enjoy nearly a full day in the city.
Of course, with Ryanair, only small hand luggage like a rucksack or holdall is free (dimensions 40x20x25cm), so that's something to take into consideration.
Denmark
Jet off to the picturesque city of Copenhagen for just £29 from Edinburgh Airport. On Tuesday September 6, the flight takes off at 7pm and you arrive in the city at 9.45pm, then you have a whole week to explore Copenhagen.
The return flight on the following Tuesday isn't until 10.10pm so you have the whole day to enjoy one last venture round the city.
