Cheapest date to book a holiday in June with Ryanair and Wizz Air

If there's one thing holidaymakers love, it's cheap flights. Travelling abroad can easily get expensive but the good news is there are still ways for travellers to keep their getaway purse-friendly this summer.

Many flights have recently been oversold, with passengers facing travel problems such as cancelled connections and extremely long queues at airports. However, for people still looking for a last-minute getaway this month, there are still plenty of affordable flights available - with some priced as low as £10.

From Milan to Copenhagen, or London to Krakow, budget airlines such as Ryanair and WizzAir are offering some great bargains. And the best time to go has been unveiled by a travel expert.

Tom Church, co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, said: "Going away between Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 22 seems to be the trick if you want the cheapest prices. This may not be possible for everyone, especially with half-term being over by then, but if you’ve got some unused holiday available and you’re overdue a break - why not try out one of these deals?

"Of course, holiday planning isn’t just about finding a good flight. You also want to safeguard your trip, so be sure to have the right measures in place. For example, browsing available hotels for those which have a free cancellation policy is wise if you want peace of mind and the security of knowing you’ll get your money back no matter what happens.

"A lot of people also don't know that you can benefit from more protection if you book with a credit card. Thanks to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, you’ll be able to claim your money back if your flight is cancelled or encounters other problems - such as the company going bust.

"Finally, be sure to plan ahead and get to the airport earlier than usual. With the possibility of extra delays being high in the current climate, it’s better to be safe than sorry."

Highlighted below are some of the destinations in Europe Britons can travel to right now on a budget:

Liverpool to Amsterdam

Travellers flying out from Liverpool John Lennon Airport can book a trip to Amsterdam from just £30. The cheapest date to fly for this destination is on June 21 at £31pp with easyJet.

Leeds to Milan

Holidaymakers don't have to be fashion experts to take in the beauty of this city and all of its stunning charms. Brits can spend a few days exploring the bustling streets of Milan and visiting its stunning cathedrals and museums. A return ticket for just £33 will take passengers on an evening flight with Ryanair, just in time for a romantic after-dark stroll or a late-night trip to the opera.

Brits can head over to Stansted and explore Budapest as they please for less this summer. The Hungarian capital has plenty to offer and an aquatic heart - tourists can take a dip in the sparkling Gellert Baths or enjoy a fantastic dinner cruise. Ryanair is offering a low price of £20 for travel this month for just over a two-hour flight, so it doesn't have to be long before holidaymakers are enjoying their last-minute getaway with ease.
