Che Adams is OUT of Scotland’s massive clash with Spain at Hampden on Tuesday with Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland replacing him.
The Southampton frontman was forced off late in the Euro 2024 qualifying Group A win over Cyprus. Steve Clarke later revealed he had a calf issue but that the striker would be assessed by the national team medics.
But in what is a huge blow for Scotland, Adams has now been forced to withdraw from the squad for the double header. Shankland has been drafted in as a replacement while Celtic full back Anthony Ralston, an unused substitute on Saturday, has also been forced out but no replacement has been brought in by Clarke. Adams was replaced by Lyndon Dykes at Hampden and the QPR man is likely to get the nod for the match against Spain, who kicked off their campaign with a 3-0 win over Norway.
