Charlotte Hornets fans were distraught the team picked Brandon Miller over Scoot Henderson

While they certainly don’t reflect everyone in the Charlotte Hornets fandom, some 2023 NBA Draft watch parties did not like the team’s second-overall selection of Alabama’s Brandon Miller.

A group of Hornets fans taking in the draft at Charlotte’s Pinhouse duckpin bowling alley and taproom expressed their immediate disbelief at the team’s pick.

They weren’t alone; other Hornets fans watching the draft at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center shared in that shock over Miller’s selection.

Those disgruntled fans clearly wanted Scoot Henderson, who went a pick later to the Portland Trail Blazers.

It was a close call as to how Charlotte would draft between Miller and Henderson, but it’s clear some Hornets fans wanted the team to do the exact opposite of what they did.

If Miller turns into an elite player, these Hornets fans will probably feel pretty silly for getting so worked up over a draft pick.

If Miller disappoints, then these Hornets fans will likely be the first to tell you they wanted Henderson.
