Charlotte Crosby 's recent pregnancy announcement may have come as a shock to some, but the former Geordie Shore star has been open about wanting to start a family for a while now.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night, the reality TV star, 31, shared the happy news she is set to become a mother for the first time later this year.
Revealing she is pregnant with boyfriend Jake Ankers' child, Charlotte shared the heartwarming she told her loved ones she is expecting a baby with her 7.7million followers.
"A moment I wasn’t sure would ever be mine Is here, it’s mine (and Jakes) and i couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with you all……Im having a baby," the proud mum-to-be told her fans online.
The pregnant star had previously shared her fears that she might never become a mother, following her traumatic ectopic pregnancy with former boyfriend Gaz Beadle in 2016.
But speaking on social media last year, Charlotte made if very clear she was keen to start a family very soon.
During an Instagram Q&A with her now ex-boyfriend Liam Beaumont, the star was asked: "When do you want kids?", to which the now-pregnant star quickly replied: "End of this year."
During another Q&A, another inquisitive fan asked: "Are you guys trying for a baby?"
Tattooed Liam quipped "Yeah I try most nights" in reply to the personal question, with Charlotte laughing off her then-boyfriend's remark but not denying his claims.
The former Geordie Shore star and videographer Liam went their separate ways in October 2021, after dating since February 2020.
Following their shock split - not long after they had moved in together - Charlotte had vowed to remain single for a while, but quickly found love again with her future baby daddy, Jake.
The couple recently hinted about engagement plans, with Jake saying a proposal was coming in "due course" in an Instagram video.
Before making things Instagram official, rumours and speculation began in December 2021 that the Newcastle native had already moved into the celebrity driver's Manchester flat after just a few months of dating.
Speaking to The Sun at the time, a source claimed the Celebrity Big Brother star still has her "mansion in Sunderland" but has been staying in Manchester with Jake.
"Jake’s letting her do what she wants with the place. They are really smitten with each other and enjoying setting up home together," they told the paper.
The swanky apartment block boasts an underground car park and swimming pool, in addition to incredible views of the northern city, and is a favourite with Love Island stars and professional footballers.
The parents-to-be went public with their relationship in January 2021 but have kept their romance relatively private.
