Charlie McCann has sent an emotional goodbye message to the Rangers support as he signed off from the Ibrox club.
The Light Blues youngster has made an exit from Govan to begin a new journey south of the border with Forest Green Rovers. Michael Beale has allowed the midfielder to move on and he has now penned a long-term deal with the English League One side - who currently sit bottom of the table and face a relegation battle.
He took to social media to express his thanks to the Light Blues for everything over the past year and a half while he also hailed the supporters as 'top class'. Posting online, he said: "I’d like to say thank you to everyone at @rangersfc for the past 18 months. I have met some amazing people and made some memories that will stay with me forever.
"I’d like to thank the club for the opportunity they gave me to play for this great club , and finally to the fans that have always been supportive towards me and are top class. #WATP."
A number of his now former Rangers team-mates were on hand to send well wishes as he sets out on his new career path.
Alex Lowry: "All the best bro, been a pleasure."
Leon King: "Good luck bro."
Adam Devine: "All the best mate, pleasure."
Kieran Wright: "All the best my man."
Reacting to his move to his new club, he said: "It feels great to have signed. I’m delighted to get it over the line and I can’t wait to get started. Hopefully I can start getting minutes under my belt very soon.”
Head of Performance & Recruitment, Stevie Grieve, added: “We are delighted to welcome Charlie to the club.
“He is an absolutely outstanding talent, who we will work with to develop for the future.
“He has demonstrated maturity and conviction to make the decision to come to Forest Green. We can’t wait to work with him.”
