Legendary broadcaster Charlie Bird has said he has "one thing left" on his bucket list as he continues to battle with the debilitating impact of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The 73-year-old, who has campaigned tirelessly for MND since his 2021 diagnosis with his Climb for Charlie events, said the final bucket list item for him would be to meet American music icon Bruce Springsteen.
The New Jersey native, also 73, is due to play at the RDS Arena in Dublin three times between May 5-9.

Taking to Twitter, Charlie wrote: "I still have one thing on my bucket list I would love to meet Bruce Springsteen when he is here."
The former RTÉ journalist previously told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show in 2021 that he had already picked the song he wants to be played at his funeral, Bruce Springsteen's Land of Hope and Dreams.
At the time, he said the reason was that he met his wife Claire at a Springsteen concert back in 2006.
His Twitter post continued: "I want Land of Hope and Dreams to be played at my funeral. This is mad , but I go to sleep nearly every night playing this song, along with The Parting Glass."
Fans have been rallying behind the father-of-two after he opened up about his final bucket list item.
One person said: "Everybody that's sees this tweet should @springsteen maybe the more people that add his name it will be more than likely he will see the tweet. Hopefully and make Charlie's wish come true."
"If anyone can make this happen it's his good friend Bono," another suggested.
One final comment of support said: "@springsteen Please make his bucket list complete. If anybody in the worlds needs to complete his bucket list this man does."
