Former Dundee skipper Charlie Adam has added further intrigue to the Dark Blues' search for a next boss by returning to Scotland.
Record Sport revealed the Burnley coach is keen to succeed Gary Bowyer and lead Dundee's return to the Scottish Premiership after outlasting Ayr and Queen's Park to seal top spot. But the celebrations were quickly quelled when the Englishman exited Dens Park days after promotion was secured.
Callum Davidson was the frontrunner and appeared on the verge of saying yes before a change of heart from the former St Johnstone boss. That has forced John Nelms and Gordon Strachan to pivot as they aim to find a boss to lead the Dee into a new campaign after 12 months out of the top flight. And Adam believes he is in the right man for the job and reckons he would be the perfect fit for the club he supported, starred for and captained. Dundee fans didn't miss his latest update announcing him crossing the border and many are hoping for an emotional reunion.
