Charli XCX stuns in black leather ensemble at The Moment premiere in London

Charli XCX has stunned in a black leather ensemble at the UK premiere of her mockumentary film The Moment.

The 33-year-old singer wore a black leather zip-up jacket with a peplum waist and matching bikini bottoms, which she paired with thigh-high leather boots, at the screening at London’s Picturehouse Central.

The singer, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, also wore a chunky silver chain necklace and minimal make-up, and her long black hair was in loose waves.

The Brat singer was joined by her co-stars at the premiere, including Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard, Stath Lets Flats star Jamie Demetriou and Ms Marvel’s Rish Shah.

Skarsgard, 49, wore a black blazer over a low, round-neck satin white top, and paired the ensemble with matching black trousers.

Demetriou opted for a casual look, wearing a black collared jacket over a blue and white striped shirt, paired with a black striped tie and blue jeans.

Shah, 28, wore a black ensemble, wearing a long trench coat over a hoodie, black chinos and patent dress shoes.

The Moment stars Charli XCX as a fictionalised version of herself, and follows a fictionalised account of the cultural phenomenon caused after the release of her Brat album in 2024, which caused a frenzy on social media.

Over the weekend, the singer said she has “definitely come close” to the kind of breakdown depicted in her new film The Moment, in which she plays a heightened version of herself.

Speaking after the film’s premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, she suggested the role required little transformation.

“I've been training to play this role my entire life in ways, very Method from the day I was born I guess,” she said.

At a press conference, Charli acknowledged the parallels between fiction and reality.

“And I've definitely reacted in ways like how I react in the film,” she continued. “Have I had a breakdown in the back of a Viano while smoking a million cigarettes? Yes. So I definitely had a lot to draw on.”

The Moment premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last month before its Berlin unveiling and is due for wider European release next month.

Charli praised Berlin for its appetite for socially engaged cinema.

“Not shying away from political films, from films that have a real social angle, films by directors who really are visionary and have something to say,” she said.

“Those are the kinds of films that we love and want to champion ourselves. I'm only just starting out in this industry, but I feel passionate about working within those spaces.”

The Moment will be released in the UK and Ireland on February 20
