Charli XCX crowned songwriter of the year ahead of Brit Awards

Charli XCX has won her first-ever Brit Award ahead of Saturday’s ceremony, being named Songwriter of the Year—a sign that she could dominate this year’s event.

The English singer, who leads this year’s nominations with five nods, has been recognised for the global impact of her critically acclaimed album Brat.
