Charles Street upgrade plan 'shut down' after negative public feedback

A bold plan to dig up a major Perth street and demolish about 100 properties to build an uninterrupted highway has been scrapped, just weeks after being announced.

Last month, Main Roads WA began public consultation over its plan to upgrade a 3.3 kilometre section of Charles Street in North Perth.
