The late Queen Elizabeth II was a beloved and "doting" great-grandmother to all twelve of her royal grandkids including Kate Middleton and Prince William's three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
While the Queen was alive, body language expert Judi James claimed Her Majesty appeared to be filled with joy when surrounded by her great grandchildren but she had a 'profound investment' in one particular child, the Express reports.
The new monarch, King Charles seems to also have his own special bond with two of the royal children who he appears to make slight exceptions for when it comes to his strict 'no PDA' attitude according to Ms James.
Ms James told the Express: “The Queen has often looked at her happiest when surrounded by her great-grandchildren and even in more formal poses she appears relaxed and quietly playful."
“Her bonds with all of them appear typically doting although we have been shown some moments that look especially intimate.”
The body language specialist claims that although the Queen had incredibly close relationships with all of her great-grandchildren, there was one she appeared to be particularly fond of.
Princess Charlotte bears a "marked" physical resemblance to her late grandmother and appeared to be "confident" in her presence.
Judi told the Express: “She is often seen close to the Queen looking happy and relaxed, suggesting a mutually close relationship.
“She sat on the Queen’s lap for one formal portrait and when that position was taken by her younger brother Louis for the next formal shot it was still Charlotte sitting close, between the Queen and Prince Philip, raising one hand in the air to suggest she was totally relaxed and totally uninhibited in their company.”
However, despite Charlotte's closeness to her great-granny, the Queen's "profound investment" lay in her second oldest grandchild, Prince George.
This is perhaps down to the Queen and young George's shared "destiny" having both been heirs to the throne at a young age.
Judi said: “Like her relationship with Charles and William, there is always the sense of something very special in the Queen’s bonding with George that is based on empathy and destiny.
“The Queen knows more than anyone what is in store for her heirs and her bonds with George, who featured in that all-important photo with his father, grandfather and great-grandmother to define the line of accession, already show signs of a shared sense of duty alongside the more usual signals of a very loving great-granny.”
However, in terms of Charles, Judi has claimed that he has his own personal 'favourite' grandchild who he seems to be closer to than the other four.
The King is said to be closer with George and Charlotte as he doesn't spend much time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet who live in the US but the monarch seems to have a soft spot in particular with little Prince Louis.
Ms James explained: “Like most grandparents, Charles probably dotes on all his grandchildren, even the ones he doesn’t get to see, but there is one in particular that the public has been allowed glimpses of that affection at work with.”
The expert claims that Charles notoriously "avoids any PDAs" but seems to make an exception for the five-year-old Prince along with his older niece Zara Tindall who he seems to also be particularly close to.
James continued: “As a result, both Zara and Louis bring out some of the best body language in Charles, with Louis in particular able to give the King the gift of looking openly affectionate and more down-to-earth than normal.”
To back up her point, the body language specialist referenced two very sweet moments between the King and his grandson with the first being an official photo where Louis is seen reaching forward to grab Charles' face.
The second instance was during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations when Louis was spotted receiving a cuddle from his grandad.
The expert said: “You can pick a child up or sit it on your lap but it’s when we see Louis throw his arms around his grandad’s neck in a reciprocal gesture that we get a hint of how close the pair are behind the scenes.”
