Charles Oliveira Record: 35-10 Former UFC Lightweight King

As a former UFC Lightweight Champion and one of the best 155-pound fighters of the past decade, we decided to take a deep dive into the MMA career of Charles Oliveira. Read on to find out more about the Charles Oliveira record, his UFC Title record, knockout ratio and full MMA resumé.

Charles Oliveira Record Currently Stands At 35-10 With 31 Stoppage Wins

Charles Oliveira turned professional back in 2008, winning three fights in one night in his home country of Brazil. Since then, Oliveira has had another 43 professional MMA fights, winning all but 10 of them.

Charles Oliveira’s career has been nothing short of magnificent to date. The 35-year-old is the former UFC Lightweight Champion, as well as being one of the most complete and well-rounded mixed martial artists on the entire UFC roster.

‘Do Bronx’ is without a doubt one of the most skilful fighters from any division in the UFC, of that there is no question. His career up to now has been sensational, and he still has some potentially huge nights ahead of him before he hangs up his gloves.

As previously mentioned, Charles Oliveira made his professional MMA debut over 16 years ago now. He has 12 fights, winning all of them bar one via stoppage, before being signed by Dana White and the UFC as a 12-0 lightweight prospect.

The Charles Oliveira MMA record continued to improve, winning his first two UFC fights before suffering his first defeat in 2010 at UFC 124. Oliveira was beaten by UFC veteran Jim Miller, before having a no contest with Nik Lentz in his next fight due to landing an illegal knee, despite originally winning the fight via submission.

He then lost his next fight to Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, but bounced back with back-to-back wins down at featherweight to get his UFC career back on track. However, after these two successive wins came another two defeats. This time to Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar respectively.

The Charles Oliveira Record Is One Of The Most Impressive In All Of MMA

With the Charles Oliveira fight record now at 16-4 (1 NC), ‘Do Bronx’ then went on a four-fight winning run at 145-pounds. This included a win over Jeremy Stephens and an official victory of Nik Lentz. Then came a fifth defeat in the UFC to Max Holloway, who would of course go on to become the king of the featherweight division not so long after.

The Brazilian once again bounced back from defeat with another submission win, but then again lost back-to-back bouts with Anthony Pettis and Ricardo Lamas. After that, it was a return to lightweight for ‘Do Bronx’. This was when his career really began taking off once and for all.

With the Charles Oliveira record now at 21-7 (1 NC), he defeated Will Brooks at UFC 210, before losing to Paul Felder at UFC 218. After that Felder defeat came a run of 11 straight victories inside the UFC. Not to mention becoming the official UFC Lightweight Champion in the process.

During this 11 fight winning streak, the 35-year-old beat the likes of Clay Guida, Jim Miller, Kevin Lee and Tony Ferguson. Of the 11 straight wins Oliveira had leading up to winning the UFC Lightweight Title and defending it, he won all but one of them via stoppage.

Oliveira’s crowning night came at UFC 262 in May 2021, when he knocked out Michael Chandler to win the 155-pound world title. He then made a successful first defence against Dustin Poirier, before then beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 274. However, Oliveira was stripped of his title due to missing weight ahead of the Gaethje fight.

Charles Oliveira’s Record Consists Of The Most Finished In UFC History (20)

With the Charles Oliveira MMA record now at 33-8 (1 NC) after the Gaethje win, next up was the feared Islam Makhachev. Makhachev, despite not being the champion, was the overriding favourite to beat Oliveira in their bout at UFC 280 with the best UFC betting sites.

The bookmakers were proved right, as Makhachev submitted ‘Do Bronx’ via arm-triangle choke in Round 2 to end Oliveira’s reign as the 155-pound king. But in true Charles Oliveira fashion, he bounced back immediately with an emphatic Round 1 knockout victory over Beneil Dariush at UFC 289.

Two fights ago, Charles Oliveira lost for the 10th time as a professional. He faced Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300, losing a narrowly close split decision. Many people thought ‘Do Bronx’ did enough to win the contest, but the three scoring judges didn’t see it that way.

Last time out at UFC 309, The Brazilian got back to winning ways with a unanimous decision victory in his rematch with Michael Chandler. Oliveira won the fight with ease, proving that he still has what it takes to become UFC Champion once again.

That takes us up to now in the professional MMA career of Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira. The Brazilian is still widely regarded as one of the best fighters in the world, and will almost certainly fight for UFC gold at least once more in his career.

A title shot against the Makhachev vs Tsarukyan winner at UFC 311 could be next on the cards in summer 2025. What a remarkable fighter the 35-year-old is. He is truly special, as his resumé proves.
