Jim Goodwin is ready to make a second raid on his former club St Mirren.
The Aberdeen boss is already trying to lure Buddies keeper Jak Alnwick to the Granite City on a pre-contract, although they face competition from Hibs and interest in England.
Now Goodwin is also keen on left-sided defender Charles Dunne but would need to agree a six-figure fee for any deal to go ahead.
The Aberdeen boss signed the 29-year-old for St Mirren on freedom of contract from Motherwell last summer.
Dunne, who is still under contract until the summer of 2023, was a big player for Saints in the first half of the season and he is keen to bring him to Pittodrie.
St Mirren’s loanee Connor Ronan is another that Goodwin is also interested in.
The midfielder, who has just been called up by the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time, is currently on loan from Wolves.
Hearts would also be interested if Ronan was available this summer.
Goodwin is actively looking to strengthen his squad and has targets in England and is also looking at European options, in countries like Holland, Croatia and Poland.
