CNN’s new show, King Charles, hosted by Charles Barkley and Gayle King, is set to premiere on Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. ET and will run Wednesdays at that same time. The cable news show will feature conversations about the biggest stories in the news cycle.
However, the show is viewed as a limited-run series that will last at least through the first quarter of next year, per Variety.
“King Charles, an hourly talk show features the dynamic Gayle King and Charles Barkley engaging each other, their guests and their audience in freewheeling and authentic conversations centered around the week’s most interesting stories, moments and cultural themes,” a press release read.
The program will feature “a mix of in-studio and remote guests with a focus on conversations that are important, serious and often funny,” Amy Entelis, CNN’s executive vice president for talent and content development, told Variety in an email. “It will feel like you are spending time together with friends.”
Barkley and King have other obligations, of course, with the former having duties on NBA on TNT and the latter being needed during the 2024 Presidential election, which is why the project is being viewed as a limited-run series.
