Various sports personalities have expressed their opinions about Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s recent suspension after he was shown displaying a gun in a video for the second time in recent months.
While ESPN’s JJ Redick says Morant shouldn’t face a lengthy suspension, TNT’s Charles Barkley shared a much more blunt perspective Wednesday night.
“We got some idiots, some fools, some jacka---- on television that really just p— me off, talking about Ja should make a stand by saying he didn’t break any laws, he didn’t do anything wrong. Those guys are just freaking idiots,” Barkley said. “When you’re making $100 million a year to play sports, your life changes. There are certain rules and regulations that you have to live by. You can’t do stupid stuff. That’s the tradeoff.”

It’s unknown how long the league will suspend Morant next season. He’s currently suspended by the Grizzlies from all team activities.
The current situation comes two months after he was suspended for eight games for displaying a gun at a nightclub in Colorado while broadcasting on Instagram Live. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski believes that the 23-year-old could face a “lengthy suspension” from the league this time around.
