Charlene White quit I'm A Celebrity's latest trial and was left in tears after becoming terrified by the Watery Grave challenge ahead of her, with her then breaking down in front of co-star Sue Cleaver after a distraught return to camp.
And Charlene's torment came at the start of an episode which ended with her being the first star to be voted off the new series.
At the end of Thursday's show, hosts Ant and Dec revealed to the campmates that, after they had to vote between themselves who had to do the Scareground trial, the public had voted again and picked Loose Women host Charlene and music icon Boy George to take on Watery Grave, which by its name alone, sounded absolutely petrifying.
Charlene wasn't exactly over the moon at the prospect of doing her first trial and the reality of the situation quickly got to her as she and George joined Ant and Dec. As they arrived in the I'm A Celebrity trial clearing. Ant explained: "This is Watery Grave. You both need to climb down inside these tombs and work together to release 11 stars. The person in the first tomb will move a magnet to move the stars around the maze and through to the second tomb. The celebrity in there will need to work the stars around their maze until they can be released. Once you get a star, get it in your star bag. Only stars in your star bag at the end of time will count.”
Charlene immediately looked hesitant and told her co-star: "You might have to talk me through this George, help me try and not absolutely freak out," adding: “I don’t think I can do this. I’ve just come out of the water as I can’t get in with the eels.”

As water spiders and crabs were dropped into their tombs, a panicked Charlene shouted: "I’m not sure I can do this. I can’t even step in the water George, currently.” The ITV news anchor then get more worked up when Ant told her that time was ticking on, with her sniping: "I know that Anthony," before uttering those famous words: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! I was trying, I can’t.”
Charlene broke down in tears after climbing back up to higher ground and, after Boy George hugged her, said: "“I was fine up until something else fell on me and I was like, ‘I can’t.’ I think I panicked. I got my head around it and then something else came and I crumbled.”
She added: “I’m really disappointed in myself and disappointed for camp.”
After she and Boy George returned to camp, Charlene then had a moment with Sue when she was left sobbing in the Coronation Street star's arms, as Sue told her: "We all have our limits."
