A SCOTTISH charity has warned that weaknesses in vetting, safeguarding and complaints procedures must be addressed after figures revealed nearly 70% of suspended officers are being probed over alleged violence against women.

The figures obtained by STV News and published on Tuesday found that of the 53 suspended officers facing criminal investigation, 37 officers are being looked into for alleged incidents of either domestic abuse, stalking or sexual abuse.
