The Chargers have found their new return specialist.
Los Angeles signed wide receiver DeAndre Carter, the team announced.
Carter formerly played with the Commanders, where he supplied a huge boost to their special teams department in 2021.
Carter finished third in yards averaged per kickoff return (25.11) and finished second to former Chargers’ Andre Roberts in total kickoff return yards. He was also one of only eight players who returned a kickoff for a score.
On offense, Carter amassed 24 catches for 296 yards and three touchdowns, all of which marked career-highs.
Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Ravens, Carter has spent time with the Raiders, Patriots, 49ers, Eagles, Texans and Bears.
