On Thursday, the Los Angeles Chargers announced they completed an interview with Tennessee Titans tight ends coach Luke Steckel for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Steckel has been a coach in the NFL for 14 years, spending the last two as the tight ends coach in Nashville. He was a surprise candidate for Los Angeles, as he wasn’t on anyone’s radar in terms of offensive coordinator interviews.
The Titans are also in the market for an offensive coordinator, but the only in-house candidate they’ve interviewed is passing-game coordinator, Tim Kelly.
Tennessee has also reportedly expressed interest in three other candidates, including the Kansas City Chiefs’ Eric Bieniemy and Matt Nagy, and the Atlanta Falcons’ Charles London, all of whom have received requests to interview.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed last week that Nagy was a “prime candidate” for the Titans. That’s the last update we’ve gotten on the outside candidates, none of whom have been confirmed to have completed an interview yet.
