A family-owned garden-cafe has opened its first urban outlet on the first floor of Chapters today.
Arboretum Urban Green spans an impressive 14,000 sq. ft, on the first floor of the well-known bookstore. In addition to plants, garden accessories, furniture, a wellness and gifting department, the store will also offer an all-day dining menu at its 60-seater cafe.
This is the third outlet for the business, which was founded in 1977 by the high-profile horticulturist Rachel Doyle in Co Carlow and is now being run by her two sons Barry and Fergal.

Today, products on sale include a wide range of unusual and distinctive indoor plants, gardening tools, seeds, bulbs, treatments, garden furniture and a range of outdoor living accessories
Chapters chief Mick Finucane said: “Arboretum have heritage; they are family owned, independent and share values and ethos with Chapters about what is important in life and how to make living worthwhile and joyful.
"I can be flippant and joke about books, plants, and cake, but what they all represent, looking after our minds and having nature present in our physical environment, stopping for a coffee to just sit and savour the moment, these are the small things that make life worthwhile.”
