Chappell Roan Calls Out Photographer At Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS Premiere: ‘I Deserve An Apology!’

Chappell Roan just did the most Queen shit ever by demanding an apology from a photographer who she says had previously yelled at her during the Grammys after-party.

It all went down at Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS film premiere in Los Angeles where Chappell had gone to support her former tour buddy.

In a clip that’s been making the rounds online, Chappell did not hold back. She points to the unnamed photographer and immediately calls them out.

“You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys. You yelled at me at the Grammy party. Yes, at the Universal after-party. I remember. You were so rude to me, and I deserve an apology for that,” she said.

She really said I’m in my no bullshit era and I’m so here for it!

Chappell ended their interaction by saying, “Don’t do that to another artist again.”

Now, whether she got that apology is still up in the air — just as the video wrapped up, a team member stepped in to diffuse the situation. She then immediately went back to serving face on the purple carpet and effortlessly posed like the Mother she is.

This isn’t Chappell’s first rodeo with photographers. Remember the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards? She had another run-in when a photographer had the audacity to tell her to “shut the fuck up”.

The “HOT TO GO!” singer was not having it and once again pointed a finger straight towards the culprit.

“You shut the fuck up,” she declared. As the crowded started cheering for her she added, “Don’t! Not me, bitch.”

Later that evening, Chappell clarified with Entertainment Tonight why she yelled back at the photographer.

“This is quite overwhelming and quite scary, I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying,” she said.

“I yelled back. I yelled back! You don’t get to yell at me like that.” She said what she said!

Fans are obsessed with Chappell’s decision to confront the rude photographer at the GUTS premiere.

“Chappell end him for me!! He was being so disrespectful yelling at her. Y’all hate to see a woman stand on business and not wanting to be disrespected. Good for her,” said one fan on X.

Some fans noted that by Chappell standing up for herself, she has now set a new precedent for other artists and celebrities.

“And mind you she’s speaking for EVERY celebrity who constantly get disrespected by paps over the years and today. People defend them as if they aren’t the scum of the earth to begin with. It’s time someone call them out on their BS. She’s changing the game,” said an X user.

It’s not just photographers who need to take note; Chappell has also been vocal about establishing boundaries with her fans. As her fame skyrocketed, she started feeling uncomfortable with some fans’ behaviour — tracking her movements and even gathering personal information about her family.

In a candid moment on The Comment Section podcast, she admitted that she’s “pumped the brakes” on pursuing further fame because of this unsettling attention.

Chappell has also opened up about dealing with depression and anxiety, especially when the pressure of fame became overwhelming. At a concert in Raleigh, she shared that “it’s hard to keep up” with her career.

Despite these challenges, she’s found strength in therapy and support from fellow artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish. “I would not have been able to handle any of this even a year ago today,” she reflected in a September interview with Rolling Stone.

Hopefully this situation will heed as a warning to rude photographers and creepy fans, because if you mess with Chappell she will (rightfully) come for you and you do not want to be on the receiving end of her wrath.
