A chapel honouring the life of an Irish bishop murdered in Los Angeles last month has been opened in his adopted city.
Bishop David O’Connell was shot dead in his home February 18.
The chapel features photos of his family and ministry and an assortment of his liturgical vestments.

There are also personal items such as handwritten notes, his Bible, rosary, a books of jokes he consulted and a wooden plaque from his office with his episcopal motto “Jesus, I trust in you”.
The 69-year-old, who was known as “Bishop Dave” was described by Archbishop Jose H Gomez as “a peacemaker with a heart for the poor and the immigrant”.
He said although he was from Cork, he died an Angeleno through and through.
Archbishop Gomez added: “We have made a beautiful, prayerful chapel to our beloved friend.
“I hope many will be able to come and celebrate the life of Bishop O’Connell, which was truly a life lived for Jesus.”
Carlos Medina, 61, Bishop O’Connell housekeeper’s husband has been charged with murder.
