Channel 5 has confirmed when the final ever episode of Neighbours will air. The long-running Australian soap opera will come to a close with a double-episode special this month. After 37 years on screen, Channel 5 said it will be a “gripping and emotional finale” with “something for everyone”.
Fans’ favourite characters from different eras of the show will star. The globally recognised soap first aired in 1985 and has followed the lives of those living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough.
The final episode was scheduled to air on Monday August 1 but has been moved forward to a primetime slot. Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who starred as power couple Scott Robinson and Charlene Mitchell in the ’80s, will return.
