A new series aired on Channel 4 on Wednesday, February 2 revealed the inside world of lavish multi-million-pound homes all designed by a Nottingham developer, Guy Phoenix. The two-part series details Guy's attempts to buy a new 'superhome' in the Park.
Viewers were taken on an aerial tour of the city showing the castle and Park area even down into the caves that were discovered during construction. The caves were discovered after the team lifted two tonnes of rubbish and which delayed construction by 10 weeks.
Guy Phoenix is known for his extravagant homes which can be found across Nottingham, often costing millions to buy. Having dropped out of school with no formal training or qualifications, Guy is not a conventional builder as he claims to not rely on plans or artist impressions.

The second episode is already streaming on All4 and it shows the highs and lows of building his most challenging superhome yet for £1 billion. His newest project will transform a dated hillside home in the exclusive Park area into a signature Guy Phoenix home which includes glass flooring and an indoor pool with a bespoke waterfall.
The first episode revealed an up close and personal tour of Guy's own home which was his very first high-end building that included a shark tank in his lounge. It's not just homes in the UK that he has constructed as he has recently transformed a rundown plot into a seven-bedroom villa complete with helipad.
Viewers reacted to the show online sharing their thoughts about the design. While they were conflicted about the houses, many were unimpressed by the swearing.
One person wrote: "One thing that’s certain. At some point that Guy Phoenix will 100% bankrupt. Absolute whopper!" Another commented on the decor: "Oh yet another interior that’s basically identical to all the other houses."
A viewer commented: "Watching #buildingbritainssuperhomes and it's ruined by the unnecessary bad language. I can swear like a trooper, but I know there's a time and a place. One Gordon Ramsay on TV is more than enough, we don't need another in Guy Phoenix. It's a shame because the houses are lovely."
Another comment read: "Really reading the room here #channel4 with the monstrosity that's #buildingbritainssuperhomes on the biggest strike day in over 10 years. Devoid of taste, style and class. Everything that's wrong with society today embodied in one foul-mouthed property developer. Great work."
