Channel 4 series Ireland Coast & Country will take viewers on a journey through emerald isle

A new series delving into the heart of Ireland as told by the people who grew up there and those who have made the island their new home is set to air tonight.

Ireland Coast & Country is set to showcase the vast variety of experiences and lifestyles across the island, north and south. From unbelievable underwater dolphin encounters to meeting Ireland’s first and only vermouth makers.

Across the series, viewers will also hear incredible stories from inspirational people including a goat herder trying to save an ancient Irish breed from extinction, a group of three passionate mountaineers, whose combined age is over 200, and the chef creating a fine dining experience from their tiny food truck, and many more.

Gill Brown, who commissioned the series for More 4 said “From the wild dolphins in Liscannor Bay to the caves at the foothills of the Cuilcagh Mountains, this series captures the breath-taking natural beauty of Ireland both for those who call it home and those that visit its shores. We are delighted to have worked with Afro-Mic on this beautiful series. “

Emma-Rosa Dias, Managing Director of Afro-Mic, says: “Ireland’s Coast & Country is the ultimate feel-good watch. It’s a big, warm hug of a series, celebrating ordinary lives in extraordinary places. Sit back, grab a cuppa, and let us transport you to the sights and sounds of Ireland’s splendid countryside and coast.

"Here at Afro-Mic we take pride in showing off the best of our island, and after seeing the remarkable cinematography and meeting our charismatic characters, you’ll be packing your bags and booking a trip to see this enchanting wonder for yourself.”

Ireland Coast & Country will air at 9pm, Wednesday 22nd June on More 4 and All 4.
