What is The Big Interiors Battle about?
The Big Interiors Battle will follow eight talented interior designers battle it out to make over - and ultimately win - an apartment of their own, worth £250,000. Judge and award-winning architect Dara Huang pushes their creativity to the limit as they work on a different room in their apartment each week.
The interior designers will each work on their own apartments. Once the challenge is complete and their efforts have been judged, they will return to their apartment to try the key card – if it lights up green, they will live to design another week, but if it turns red, they are locked out and eliminated from the competition.
Who is hosting The Big Interiors Battle?
AJ Odudu is fronting the programme with the help of judge and award-winning architect Dara Huang. AJ shot to fame when she appeared on the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing, having previously presented Big Brother's Bit on the Side.
Since Strictly she's co-hosted a one-off revival of The Big Breakfast, The Great Comic Relief Prizathon, the Platinum Jubilee Pageant and will be presenting the Big Eurovision Welcome party in May 2023. Dara is an American architect and is the founder of Design Haus Liberty and co-founder of Vivahouse.
She earned a master's degree in architecture from Harvard University and has worked on buildings including the Tate Modern in London. Dara was engaged and has a son with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi who is now married to Princess Beatrice.
Who is the Welsh contestant on The Big Interiors Battle?
Hoping to win his flat is Jamie Dibble who is 33 and from Cardiff. A Fine Art graduate, Jamie also studied to be an Art and Design teacher only to realise that teaching was not his dream.
After working in and designing for high-street furniture shops, he launched his own design business, DeDesigns, designing interiors for serviced apartments. A jack of all trades, he has worked in mixed media at Uni and installations, ceramics, GFX design and he understands the 'feel and purpose' of a room.
He paints, decorates, upholsters, is handy with a drill, and is all about the details and seeing things through to the end. He will try anything!
