Channel 4 Gogglebox fans 'crying' seconds into show as it airs on a Monday

Channel 4 Jenny Newby Lee Riley

Gogglebox returned to Channel 4 tonight - on a Monday.

Normally the couch critic show airs on a Friday evening. But the much-loved show surprised viewers with a one-off festive special on January 2 which lasted for 90 minutes - providing fans with an extra 30 minutes of viewing.

It showed cast members watching festive shows such as Jamie Oliver cooking a Christmas dinner and a seasonal episode of First Dates. And as usual the show did not disappoint.
