Channel 4 boss ‘waiting on MAFS UK review’ before deciding on show’s future

  • Channel 4 chief executive Priya Dogra has stated that financial success will not influence whether Married At First Sight UK continues following an external review.
  • The review, led by former BBC One controller Lorraine Heggessey, was launched after three female participants made allegations of rape and sexual misconduct against their on-screen husbands.
  • A MAFS UK cast member was arrested on suspicion of rape in June and subsequently bailed as Metropolitan Police enquiries remain ongoing.
  • Ms Dogra confirmed she is awaiting the outcome of the open-ended review into welfare protocols and the format before making a final decision on the show.
  • Addressing wider station strategy, Ms Dogra defended plans to cut around 340 roles by the end of 2026 to prioritise programming spend, while ruling out a merger with the BBC.
