Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes has admitted how she fears her saggy skin is “ageing her” after losing more than 9st.
The TV personality previously weighed more than 17st and underwent gastric sleeve surgery in August 2020.
The brunette beauty quickly lost weight after she had the operation - which saw her drop from a size 18 to a size 6-8 - as a 'last resort' after struggling with her weight for years.
But while the telly star feels “a million time better now” after the 9st 4lb weight loss, she is planning a tummy tuck as she thinks her saggy skin is “ageing” her.
Chanelle, 35, told how she now weighs around 8st, having lost a further stone-and-a-half since last summer due to university deadlines and keeping up with her children’s schedules.
The mum-of-two boys, Blakely, 12, and Frankie, five, has been left with a lot of loose skin and is considering further surgery to “do something about it”.
She told New! magazine: “I feel like its aging me a bit. I haven’t spoken to a professional yet but I need to look into options.
“I’m all for body positivity and feeling confident in your own skin, but I also believe that each person has their own choice about their body. I don’t want to set unrealistic examples to people but I also what to stay confident and happy in my own skin and if that means having surgery to improve my mental health then so be it.”
The telly personality went on to explain that she’s happy with her body and all its doing for her at the moment but she does want to explore other “avenues” to improve her confidence.
Aside from her gastric sleeve surgery, Chanelle is no stranger to going under the knife.
She had a hair transplant in 2020 to help reverse some of her hair loss she suffered as a result of years of yoyo dieting.
She told the publication that she’s also planning on having her breast implants– that she had put in in 2010 – removed as she believed her breasts have been left “disfigured” since her dramatic weight loss.
Chanelle wants to wait until after she’s finished her university studies next year to get them taken out and have a breast uplift to rectify the issue.
She explained that she had her implants put in under her chest muscle, but that her breast tissue is now under her ribs so she has what effectively looks like four separate breasts.
“I’d have my implants removed or perhaps switched to smaller ones. The surgeon would have to remove all the loose skin and put it back up where it meets the middle,” she explained.
“My nipples are doing more having out with my knees at the moment than my chest, so it’ll be nice to be reunited with them!”
Despite wanting to wait until after her university studies are completed, Chanelle does want to get cracking with her surgeries before her impending wedding to accountant Dan Bingham.
The couple got engaged last May but are yet to set a date. Chanelle explained to the magazine how she’s torn between having a “huge” wedding or something nondescript in a registry office.
But the telly star did admit that she wants to put a little weight on before having dress fittings for her big day to feel “comfortable” and “nice” and not distracted by thoughts about her skin.
Chanelle met Dan when she was a size 14 and she told how he is staunchly against her having any more surgery as he loves her exactly as she is.
He doesn’t want her to take the risk of being put under general anaesthetic but Chanelle said how she told him: “If its something that’s going to make me more confident and more happy, then you font get a say in it, it’s my body. I appreciate you like it as it is, but it’s not yours!”
