Chandigarh international airport renamed after Bhagat Singh

Bhagat Singh Narendra Modi Bhagwant Mann CHANDIGARH Nirmala Sitharaman Dushyant Chautala Haryana Punjab

The international airport in Chandigarh was on September 28, 2022, renamed Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an announcement in this regard.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who was the chief guest at an event at the airport, thanked the Prime Minister for deciding to rename the airport after the iconic freedom fighter.

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister Gen. (Retd.) V.K. Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, and Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher were also present at the event.
