Swansea City have reportedly had a bid accepted by recently relegated Blackpool for striker Jerry Yates. The bid, which is believed to be in the region of £2.5million, could see the 26-year-old move to the Liberty Stadium ahead of next season, casting further doubt over the future of Dutch striker Joel Piroe, who has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
Piroe, who has scored 41 goals in two seasons in the Championship since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in July 2021, is said to be a target for the Whites and fellow Championship new boys Leicester City. Southampton are also said to be tracking the striker, while Premier League sides Everton and Nottingham Forest are also said to have made tentative enquiries
BBC Sport claims the Swans are on the verge of signing Yates, which could hand the Whites a major boost in their hopes of signing Piroe. Leeds know they'll face plenty of competition for Piroe this summer and will need to act fast with a Serie A side also reportedly in the running.
Daniel Farke and his side have already bid farewell to Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Brenden Aaronson for the 2023-24 campaign, with Marc Roca expected to follow suit. There is plenty of speculation regarding further exits, with Illan Meslier, Tyler Adams, Jack Harrison and Rodrigo just some of those linked with a move away from Elland Road.
The Whites are yet to sign off on any incoming transfers but Aberdeen youngster Lewis Pirie is reportedly closing in on a move to Leeds and is set for a medical on Wednesday. It's likely he'll link up with the Whites academy set-up, with progress slow in terms of first-team arrivals.

Speaking in May, Piroe told Eindhovens Dagblad: "Whether I will stay in Swansea for another year? There is a lot of speculation, but it remains to be seen whether something concrete will happen.
"It is nice to hear that clubs are interested. I mainly look at where I can play a lot and continue to take steps as a football player."
