Champions League table: League phase latest standings for 2024-25 season as Liverpool top

Liverpool sit top of the Champions League table after four rounds of fixtures.

Aston Villa, however, were dealt their first defeat as Tyrone Mings’ bizarre handball was punished in a shock 1-0 defeat to Club Brugge. Arsenal, meanwhile, lost for the first time this season in a 1-0 defeat away at Inter Milan.

Arne Slot’s side continued their perfect start to the European campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, with Luis Diaz scoring a hat-trick at Anfield on a miserable night for the returning Xabi Alonso.

Portuguese giants Sporting CP now sit behind the Reds in second as Ruben Amorim won his final European game in charge of the club by shocking Manchester City 4-1, after the red-hot Viktor Gyokeres scored a stunning hat-trick.

City, as a result, now sit in seventh after a miserable week for Pep Guardiola and his side.

Real Madrid’s early season struggles continued too following their 3-1 defeat at home to AC Milan. Celtic’s resurgence continued too after they beat RB Leipzig 3-1 home.
