PSV Eindhoven have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno this summer with the German eyeing a departure from the Emirates ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
The signing of Aaron Ramsdale last summer did not appear to be an immediate threat at the time to Leno's position as number one under Mikel Arteta, but when his chance came the England international grabbed it, condemning his teammate to the bench in the process.
Now 30, Leno is eager to be playing regular football and with the World Cup just around the corner, a place in Hansi Flick's Germany squad is also on his mind. Leno admitted last season that being dropped for Ramsdale after a poor start to the campaign left him feeling bitter.

"It was a setback and a bitter moment," the Germany international told Spox, via Goal back in April . "But that's sport, you have to accept that. It wasn't easy, but I couldn't feel sorry for myself, I wanted to attack again immediately. I don't want to say I was a pawn, but when the results aren't right, sometimes things happen quickly in football.
"The coach wanted to set a new impulse - and then the [improved] results came. That was bitter for me, because I had held up well before that. I had never experienced anything like that in my career before. But I looked ahead. My ambition is to always play, I know what I can do. I'm not 20 anymore, where I could say: 'I still have time'."
With just one year remaining on his contract, this summer presents potentially the last chance Arsenal have to cash-in on Leno's services before losing him for free in the summer of 2023. Newly-promoted Fulham reportedly hold an interest in signing him this summer but, as Kicker have stated, Eridivise runners-up PSV also want to bring him in ahead of their Champions League campaign.
