Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique urged his players to disregard their two-goal advantage and play to win the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool.

PSG dominated Liverpool during the 2-0 first leg victory at the Parc des Princes last Wednesday but squandered four good chances to add to the scoreline.

"Everyone says: ‘You won the first leg easily and you were much better than them,'" said Enrique.

"It might be the case but things can change so quickly in a football match. In the space of five minutes, you can score two goals or concede two. For me, it’s a tricky game. The tie is still open. Our mentality is to win every match."

PSG beat Liverpool in the last-16 on their way to the 2025 final where they destroyed Inter Milan 5-0 to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time.

Liverpool warmed up for tonight's clash with a 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday which kept them fifth in the English Premier League and in contention for a place in the league stages of the 2026/2027 Champions League.

French football chiefs allowed PSG to postpone last weekend's Ligue 1 match at title rivals Lens in order to prepare for the Champions League game in Liverpool.

Arne Slot, who led Liverpool to the 2025 Premier League title at the end of his first season in the Anfield hot seat, said the home supporters would be key in any comeback against PSG.

"We are playing the champions of Europe, which makes the task more difficult but not impossible," added the 47-year-old Dutchman.

"But just as important as our performance is the influence of the Anfield crowd. Many of the PSG players have experienced Anfield and think they know what is coming.

"I think our fans are up for making it even louder, and that's also needed. I trust the fans to be even louder than last season."

Slot said that despite the pounding his side took in the first leg they were still in the tie.

"There is belief we can do something special," Slot insisted. "But we need to be very, very, very special to achieve that."

In Tuesday night's other second leg match, Atletico Madrid entertain Barcelona with a 2-0 advantage from last Wednesday's first leg game at the Camp Nou.

On Wednesday, Arsenal host Sporting at the Emirates Stadium in north London nursing a 1-0 lead from the first leg.

Bayern Munich, who won 2-1 at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid last week, welcome Real Madrid to the Allianz Arena.
